Year 4 maths

Today year 4 have been sorting 2d shapes. We used Carroll Diagrams and Venn diagrams. Some of us sorted to given criteria, while some of us made up our own 🙌

Year 4 maths

In maths Year 4 have been finding out how to find the radius of a circle. First we had to use a compass to draw a circle - this proved challenging at 1st but we got there. Using a ruler accurately was important for measuring the radius. Finally we challenged ourselves to calculate the diameter from given radii! Phew! We did really well 👍

Monday morning assembly

Mr deNeve talked to us about having healthy teeth 😁. Certificates were given out to children who had been swimming on Friday. Sportasaurus was awarded for 100% effort, good behaviour, attainment and progress. Finally Mr Amies awarded the times table trophy to the joint winning classes ☺.

Tonight CJS boys football team beat local rivals, Mundesley, in a hard fought first match of our season. Well done to all who played. A great team effort.

Y3 trip to Gressenhall

Year 3 visited Gressenhall on Tuesday to experience life as it might have been 5000 years ago as a Neolithic man. They had great fun making shelters, learning to hunt and gather, farm and make clay pots. We had a wonderful day!

Year 5 at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village

We had a fantastic trip yesterday looking round the Anglo-Saxon village at West Stow.  The village itself is a reconstruction of the original which would have existed on the site 1500 years ago. The museum we looked round rivaled Norwich Castle museum with its artefacts, especially those the children could handle and try on. We had a delicious picnic and all had a great time.
