Good Luck Mrs Petersen!

On Friday, we said 'Goodbye' and 'Good Luck' to Mrs Petersen.  She is now at home preparing for the birth of her first baby.  Everyone wishes Emma well and we all look forward to hearing some exciting news!  The current plan is for Mrs Petersen to return to school in the latter part of the Summer Term. :-)

Wednesday 30th November 2011

Following many discussions, Cromer Junior School will be open on 30.11.11.  A school residential visit has been arranged and in place for nearly a year.  A number of staff are involved with that trip and the subsequent arrangements back in school.  The staff do have serious concerns about their pensions and being open should not be interpreted that any individual is automatically in agreement with what is happening to our futures. Any further situations will be addressed as they arise.  Thank you.  S. Godson

This week parents have been having lunch with thier children. The team have catered for over 100 parents and grand parents who have joined in.  Many children then took some pride in showing their school to their visitors.  Lovely!  Well done to all and thanks for your support.

All of the joins on our trails equal 5 or 10!
Who can use all of their dominoes first?

Year 6 Science

This afternoon, Year 6 have been exploring light. We discovered that light travels in a straight line and can be reflected. We also found out that there is a link between the angle of the reflection and the beam of light.

Y6 Pyjama Day and Bike Ride

Pyjama day was a success! We raised £31.00 for our sponsored children.
Thank you to all the people who took part.

Also a big thank you to Y6 bike riders who took part  in our sponsored bike ride and to the people who organised it: James, George and Ronnie. We hope to raise about £150, when all the sponsor money comes in.

Road Safety

Tomorrow's assembly covers aspects of road safety. Whilst it is lovely some children can still play outside after school, it is very important that they are aware of the dangers of traffic particularly during these darker evenings.

Year 3 Best Effort Assembly

This delightful story, a result of some story writing during the Animals theme, was written/illustrated by a year 3 child and shown in assembly. We think it's good enough to publish! (click on the picture to view them 'big'!)

Headteacher Awards and Best Effort Assembly

Monday's assembly and the theme for the week is 'Stereotypes'.  Questions were raised like, ' Do you treat everyone the same?'  'Do we all have the same opportunities?'  'Do we respond to all adults in a similar way?'  'Do we accept the beliefs of others?'  'Do we all have the same background?'   Some questions provoke a lot of thought.  Some questions may have different answers in Norfolk to other places.  Is this ok?

On Friday 18.11.2011, 5 Headteacher Awards were presented.  They are gained by receiving 5 large 'Best Effort' certificates.  Loads of single 'Best Effort' certificates were given out.  Well done to everyone, it was another lovely assembly and we saw and heard some superb work.  To hear writing which has been inspired by the visit to Benjamin Court was very powerful.  To hear stories inspired by the Bug Hotel just showed how 'real' is making a difference.  To see the quality of art work which had been done as homework showed a level of commitment.  To hear reports of two good wins by the girls' football team.  Great stuff!

Girls Football at Millfield Primary

A convincing 4-0 victory with more than one shot hitting the post and a peculiar shot that rebounded of about 4 players like a pinball straight into the hands of the opposition goalie! Well done, girls!

Any one for 'Spot the Ball'? :)

Choir in Action!

The Choir also received a surprise visit!  Although not running during the school day, it is hoped that the video clip works at home.  Let us know!

The Band is surprised during rehearsals!

The band was really surprised and this is also a trial with video!

Singing with Mr Amies and John Attfield

On a Thursday afternoon the children have a singing session.  John Attfield plays the piano and really encourages your children to find their best voices.  Mr Amies accompanies on the guitar and everyone can produce a wonderful sound.  Today, we all started to learn some new songs for C.......! (Can't say it in November!)
